The detection principle of an oxygen detector:

Air and the measured gas diffuse onto the sensing electrode through a diffusion film. The control circuit maintains a voltage sufficient to initiate an electrochemical reaction between the sensing electrode and the counter electrode. The electrochemical reaction generated under the action of the measured gas forms an electric current between the two poles. The intensity of this current is proportional to the concentration of the measured gas and is reversible. The control circuit also forms a bias level between the induction electrode and the reference electrode, which does not generate current between the two poles. The rapid response of the sensor enables real-time and continuous detection of the surrounding air.

Oxygen detectors can be divided into two types based on sampling methods: diffusion detection and pump suction detection, each with its own advantages. The diffusion detection method is easy to operate and has a small impact on the sensor during detection, resulting in a longer service life. When operating the pump suction detection method, it is necessary to grasp the dense direction of the gas source and cannot detect in the opposite direction, which affects the detection effect.
